Here are the top 10 U.S. hospitals by gross revenue (with figures rounded to the nearest hundred million), according to the American Hospital Directory.

  1. University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian (Pittsburgh, Pa.) — $8.6 billion
  2. The Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, Ohio) — $7.1 billion
  3. New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center (New York, N.Y.) — $6.3 billion
  4. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, Calif.) — $5.8 billion
  5. Temple University Hospital (Philadelphia, Pa.) — $5.5 billion
  6. Florida Hospital Orlando (Orlando, Fla.) — $5.4
  7. Stanford Hospital (Stanford, Calif.) — $4.7 billion
  8. University of California San Francisco Medical Center at Parnassus (San Francisco, Calif.) — $4.5 billion
  9. Montefiore Medical Center - Moses Division Hospital (Bronx, N.Y.) — $4.5 billion
  10. Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pa.) — $4.4 billion
